We Must Never Forget 9/11/01

by Charles on September 11, 2011

I don’t think anyone could not be aware that today is the 10th anniversary of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks against us. Those attacks changed our life here in the United States and forced us to realize that we too are vulnerable to harm. We must remember just how evil our enemies can be and be prepared to protect ourselves from them.

I was on a trip that day and staying near an airport where some of the airlines had flight crews stay on layovers. After all planes were ordered grounded, I remember one young stewardess very concerned about when she would see her family again. I remember how quiet everything was that day. We didn’t know if those four planes were just the beginning of more attacks yet to come. No one I saw was in a panic but everyone was concerned.

The cowardly horror that took place in New York is beyond description. The heroism of the firemen, police and others who tried to help those in danger that morning can never be forgotten. Their actions that day make us all proud and hopeful.

This very short video expresses my feelings much better than my words can:
