October Surprises

by Charles on October 12, 2011

This October has started out to be a month full of surprises both good and bad. Obama and his supporters are doing their best to instigate class warfare against the “rich” with campaign speeches and these dysfunctional “Wall Street protests”. The speeches show Obama’s desperation to distract voters from all his failures as president and attempt to blame the rich for the nation’s problems. The protests might be more effective if more of the protesters had any idea what they were protesting. Defecating on police cars and the American flag are not helpful in gaining respect for your argument.

Our nation deserves better than this type of socialist ranting. Businesses need to be free of excessive government interference and encouraged to grow and put good people back to work.

Personally, I spent most of October experiencing our health care system. October 2, my 91 year old mother fell and broke her hip and shoulder. She was in the hospital for eight days and needed two operations. She has a long recovery ahead of her but she was very lucky. I couldn’t be more impressed with the quality of the care she received. I am thankful Obamacare didn’t decide her treatment.

It seems that Obama dislikes the elderly as much as he does private businesses. Remember, he stated that at some point the elderly need to be satisfied with a pain pill instead of an operation. My mother was in an emergency situation and I’m not saying she would have been denied care but I fear there would have been some bureaucratic reluctance for the treatment she needed if Obamacare was in force.

We have the best healthcare in the world now, I hope we are smart enough not to allow it to be ruined by misguided politicians.

On the positive side it is October and the weather is cool, leaves are changing and it’s a great time to enjoy the outdoors. There are plenty of fall festivals all around the country right now. It’s also a great time to hike or just get out for a pleasant walk. I hope you are able to enjoy it and make your October surprise a pleasant one.
