Not A Pleasant Halloween

by Charles on October 31, 2011

Over this past month I’ve learned that taking care of a 91-year-old mother with a broken shoulder and broken hip is not only time-consuming but much more labor-intensive than you might imagine. After two surgeries, we thought she was recovering pretty well but on a follow-up visit to the surgeon today, we learned that the shoulder surgery had failed. Now we have to watch her for two weeks to determine what needs to be done next. She hasn’t complained about the news but it’s only natural for it to be upsetting.

Someone else who hasn’t had a very pleasant Halloween is Herman Cain. Herman is very well known here in Georgia and even hosted a radio talk show in Atlanta prior to his decision to run for the presidential nomination. He is a brilliant and very successful businessman who is more likable the better you get to know him. These vague accusations of sexual harassment appear nothing more than gutter politics from liberals who can’t tolerate a black man leaving the Democrat plantation. Remember how they slandered Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court.

It appears this next year could possibly set a new low for presidential politics.

I apologize for the shortness of this post but it’s been a pretty trying day. I hope to keep to a more frequent schedule in the near future unless circumstances prevent it. I do appreciate your being here.

I hope you have been able to enjoy a happy Halloween.
