Amazon made a major announcement this morning concerning its new family of Kindle Readers and the Kindle Fire tablet which will be available November 15. One of the new readers which are available today is only $79 and the very impressive full color tablet is only $199. For those of us who travel a lot or just like to keep up to date with what is going on, this announcement is great news.
The Kindle Readers have always been the most popular readers on the market and these new models are even more portable and less expensive. The Kindle Fire full color tablet offers many of the features of an Apple iPad but its price is $300 less. It will be interesting to see how Apple responds to this formidable competition to the tablet market with holiday shopping just ahead.
Jeff Bezos at Amazon is extremely optimistic about these new products and since the previous Kindle Readers have always been the biggest sellers at Amazon, he certainly has good reason.
