Obama has recently been appearing all over television stressing his claims that government run health care will not reduce benefits or increase costs. It sounds too good to be true because it is.
The Congressional Budget Office reports that the Medicare Advantage programs, which millions of seniors purchase to supplement medicare, will be cut by $100 to $130 Billion over the next decade under the reform bill.
Humana Insurance which is one company that offers these plans has been mailing its customers with information about future reductions in coverage in the reform bill. As a result the democrats pushing the bill have slapped Humana with a “gag order” for these mailings. Why shouldn’t we know the facts?
Obama also argued with George Stephanopoulos on ABC that the government “mandate” which penalizes those without healthcare coverage was not a tax. Yet the Max Baucus senate bill specifically defines that mandate as an “excise tax”.
While all these misrepresentations and contradictions to the truth keep piling up, the radical democrats are more demanding to get this government health care passed immediately. They know the more that people learn of the truth, the less their chances are to ram this down our throats. If this is really a good plan they should benefit by getting the details known.
