Now that the new year is here, we are going to have to deal with a number of changes both good and bad. With the economy affecting our jobs, savings, homes, food and gas; we are all going to have to deal with changes of some degree.
For many of us these changes will result in a major adjustment to our lives. The question is whether we will deal with the situation as an opportunity or a disaster.
Many large companies are having to downsize or even close and this means career changes for a lot of people.
Some will start their own small business as an opportunity or necessity. I’m sure there will be a large number who will seek financial freedom on the internet and work from home. Whatever the choice, knowledge, commitment and positive attitude will be key for success.
Especially those of us past fifty will need to rely on our experience and expertise to create and maximize our own opportunity.
I’m not trying to be pessimistic because some of the changes will result in the chance of a lifetime for those who can recognize opportunity. I’m asking you to keep your imagination in gear and be ready to make the most of 2009.
I hope it will be a happy new year for all of us.
